Provide implementation and advanced technical support for applications, services, servers, storage, peripherals, and related logical services, primarily based on (but not limited to) Sun Solaris operating systems, within a national operations support organization. Work as a subject matter expert representing operations on systems and logical services primarily based on Solaris operating systems, but in a heterogeneous environment also including other UNIX-based systems. Work closely with engineering teams to help ensure timely and successful deployments of future services for wireless data customers. Perform final operations readiness assessments of new services and document results for management review.
• UNIX systems administration tasks. CPU, disk and memory utilization management. Etc…
• Application support for enterprise services. Apache, Weblogic, Oracle, Veritas.
• Application level database support.
• Fault management configuration and maintenance.
• Network troubleshooting.
• Service and process documentation.
• PERL, Shell and PHP scripting.
• Rotating 24X7 On-call support.
• Perform operational readiness analysis of new products and services.
• Troubleshooting of broad reaching network and service outages.
• Work with external partners and vendors on new applications and existing services.

Všeobecně požadované znalosti

*3 – 5 Years experience in the systems/applications support arena.
• UNIX -- Solaris, HP, Linux and BSD are all acceptable.
• Scripting with PERL, Shell and or PHP.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an ever evolving network.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong understanding of internet services and principles. DNS, E-mail, HTTP.
• Ability to manage projects through their entire life cycle.
• Internet application support
• High traffic load balancing
• Knowledge of internet browsing trends and methodologies.
